Coronavirus (COVID-19): Guidance on access to Naishes Lane SANGS
Naishes Lane SANGS is much loved by the community, and we want to assure you that this wonderful, community resource is still open so that people can enjoy it for wellbeing and much needed walks or exercise during these challenging times.
However, to ensure that it can stay open for everyone to use and to minimise the risk of spreading this virus and so reduce the burden on the amazing work that the NHS is doing for us, it is crucial that EVERYONE follows the Government’s rules to stop the spread of COVID-19.
This means one form of exercise a day, for example a run, walk, or cycle – alone or with members of your household. And even when doing this, you should be minimising time spent outside of the home and ensure that you are 2 metres apart from anyone outside of your household. See the full list of Government Rules.
When using Naishes Lane SANGS, it is vital that you take these steps:
Do not visit the area if you have any symptoms – fever, coughs, shortness of breath. See NHS Guidelines if this applies to you.
Observe social distancing, staying at least two metres apart from other people
If the SANGS is crowded do not enter if you cannot safely observe social distancing. This particularly applies to areas where pathways are narrow or restricted such as the boardwalks, bridges or where there is dense growth either side of the footpath
Where possible, consider visiting the area at different times (later/earlier) to allow parents, children and older people to use the space safely
Use all areas of the SANGS that remain open so you can maintain an appropriate distance from others
If any part of the SANGS is crowded, consider exercising in quieter less-used areas.
In some spaces, it may be difficult to maintain the recommended distance from other users, so please think very carefully about what areas you choose to use.
Avoid touching surfaces as much as possible (such as gates or hand-rails) and follow Public Health England advice on hand washing including washing your hands as soon as you get home
Keep your dog(s) under CLOSE CONTROL at all times
Please respect those managing these spaces including following any instructions from officials on site as temporary measures may be put in place to safeguard you at any time
Do not use any areas that have been closed off – these will have been closed for your safety.
The Naishes Lane SANGS team would like to thank everyone for their understanding. In these very worrying and difficult times it is important that we all pull together and follow the Government guidelines to ensure that we can stay healthy and safe. As always, if you have any concerns or questions about the SANGS, you can get in touch with us via the Contact Us page.
